Mt. Carnavon hiking/scrambling

7/22/2017

We went to beautiful Mount Carnavon this time. Near Field, BC this was a long, demanding but just beautiful hike/scramble.
From Field, BC we went west for about 2.5 km and turned right on Emerald Lake Rd for another 9 km. Parked at Emerald Lake Parking area and looked for the Hamilton Lake trailhead at the entrance of the
parking. I love Field as there is a warmth and cuteness to the town and Emerald Lake is beautiful on all seasons. I have done snowshoeing at the lake before, which I enjoyed a lot.
Lots of hand-on scramble, which I enjoyed and many lovely wildflowers and alpine plants that made the day just so much interesting!
So many lovely wildflowers on the trail and absolutely gorgeous and large mountain with many areas of loose redish/browish scree and exposure. It often had snow / ice on the route to the summit. I didn't summit but two of us did. But happy to hear we were very very close!
Thank you again to our amazing organizer Michael JC and the fun awesome group. Thank you sooooo much for some of the photos. There is a mix of my photos, Michael's photos, Jenny's photos and Lito's photos. Love how we can all contribute!
